Notre Dame Football Recruiting: Isaiah McKenzie Eliminates Notre Dame

Notre Dame Football Recruiting

American Heritage Wide Receiver and Athlete Isaiah McKenzie has eliminated Notre Dame to the surprise of many, according to 247Sports.

The situation between McKenzie and Notre Dame has grown worse in the past few days. Some of the rift caused McKenzie to tweet the following about some Notre Dame fans:

McKenzie “committed” to Notre Dame despite not being accepted to Notre Dame. Following the Under Armour All-America Game, McKenzie received much more recruiting attention. At that time, Florida and Oregon came to the table with offers.

McKenzie was considered a Notre Dame lean until the past few weeks. He was schedule to visit Notre Dame this weekend, January 31st-February 2nd.

Virginia Tech and South Carolina have recently entered into the mix along with Ole Miss and Florida. McKenzie could visit either one of these schools in place of his now cancelled visit to Notre Dame.

This is a huge loss for Notre Dame. They have trouble landing this type of game-breaking player. Despite his now 4-star ranking, anyone who watched the Under Armour All-America Game realized that he is a tremendous talent.

Andrew..ND recruited a kid who was considered a far superior player in Davonte Neal. He was another 170 lb play maker.

His 1.2 and 17 yards of production and limitations kept him off the field.

If the IM had made the academics in October he was ND. The fact that all of a sudden he became the popular kid and forgot his friends is on him.

NO one has your take that losing what was a another 170 lb good HS player means the recruiting class is taking a major hit. It was one All star game with special rules for special teams.

If he was a 4.3 guy, of course it is a different discussion. But come on, the top 4 teams had how many 170 lb 4.5 guys? They had one common trait..power.

Securing another DL or CB will determine where this class ends up.
