Notre Dame Football Recruiting

Notre Dame landed a late surprise commitment from Staten Island, New York Defensive Tackle Peter Mokwuah. Notre Dame was also working hard on landing another commitment from the remaining Defensive Tackle prospects on the board.

With only a few weeks left in this recruiting cycle, Notre Dame had three prospects who were still in contention. These prospects included Michael Sawyers, Daniel Cage and Courtney Garnett.

However, the Irish are down to only one prospect.

Former Vanderbilt commitment Michael Sawyers announced earlier this week that he would be taking a visit to Tennessee instead of Notre Dame this weekend.

And, former Texas commitment Courtney Garnett committed to Oklahoma today.

The Irish are down to one prospect, Daniel Cage. Cage visited Notre Dame midweek. However, he is considered a Michigan State lead.

As of right now, the Irish look unlikely to land another Defensive Tackle in this class. But, this should have been a forgone conclusion. They are lucky to land one so late in the game.
