Notre Dame Football Recruiting

The Notre Dame welcomes in recruits this weekend for their first Junior Day of the 2014. Coaches as well as fans will want immediate satisfaction from this weekend. Who is most likely to commit of the prospects who will be in town?

1. ATH Justin Tranquill (Fort Wayne, Indiana-Carroll High School)

As the brother of Notre Dame signee Drue Tranquill, Justin has the closest ties to the current Notre Dame football team. He currently does not hold an offer from Notre Dame. However, if the Irish were to offer this weekend, they could land an immediate commit from Justin Tranquill.

2. Elijah Taylor (Cincinnati, Ohio-Moeller High School)

Taylor currently attends Archbishop Moeller, a Catholic High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. This is the high school of former Notre Dame Quarterback Andrew Hendrix. Former Head Coach Gerry Faust was the head man at Moeller from 1962-1980 where he won 4 state titles. Taylor holds a Notre Dame offer. A commitment could come over the weekend.

3. Justin Hilliard (Cincinnati, Ohio-St. Xavier High School)

Like Taylor, Justin Hilliard hails from a school that has multiple ties to Notre Dame. He is currently one of the best prospects that Notre Dame is recruiting. Hilliard will likely extend his recruitment into his Senior season and beyond. Hilliard has visited Notre Dame multiple times. He is definitely interested in the Irish. A commitment could come but is less likely than the other two.

Any other prospect could commit during Junior Day, especially if offer. However, there are no previous indications that a commitment may come. Even if a commitment does not occur, the benefits of the Junior Day may pay off later.
