Notre Dame Football: Kelly Wraps Up Day #2

Notre Dame Football

There was no media present at today’s practice. However, Kelly met with Jack Nolan following the second spring practice session. The Irish practiced again inside the Loftus Center because of the weather.

The Loftus Center has new turf for the practices of 2014 and beyond. A sign of things to come?

Kelly said, “I probably got more accomplished than I excepted.” Has a coach ever said, “we are terrible football team”? But, taking Brian Kelly for his word, Notre Dame has hit the ground running on the 2014 season.

The coaching staff outlined the playbook and what they expect. Obviously, since the Irish introduce two new coordinators, they need to dive deep into the playbook as soon as possible.

Kelly claimed that no one person was standing out for the Irish so far.

“Its a young group of guys who are focused on getting the field.”

The 2014 group will be a young hungry team. The Irish have 10 players that were ranked in the Top 150 of Rivals rankings that are ready to contribute. Add in players like Justin Brent, Nyles Morgan and Jay Hayes and the Irish have an extremely talented core.

Notre Dame will return to the practice field on March 19th. The Irish have 13 practices left including the 85th annual Blue-Gold Game.
