Notre Dame Football Recruiting: Tristen Hoge Evaluation

Notre Dame Football

Junior Highlight Film

Notre Dame typically lands tackles and moves them around to fill each position accordingly. The Irish have broke that mold in the past with John Montelus. He was clearly an interior player.

The same could be said about Tristen Hoge, a 2015 Notre Dame commitment. He checks in at 6’5″ 287. 247Sports rates Hoge as a 4-star recruit. They rank him as the 97th best overall player.

Hoge plays Center in high school. However, he should be able to play any of the interior positions in college. On the other hand, having someone who is experienced at snapping should not be understated.

Hoge is excellent at both run blocking and pass blocking. For his size, he moves extremely well. He gets out on screens and gets up to the second level on running plays.

The competition that he plays is obviously not top notch. But, he appears to dominating his competition. He’s doing all that is asked of him. Additionally, he is likely not 287. He looks to be around 260. But, he definitely is 6’5″. Hoge should be able to add weight to his frame and be ready to compete by his Sophomore or Junior year at the latest.
