The recruiting season is about to kick into high gear with the Blue-Gold Game on April 12, 2014 and spring evaluation period.

Irish Lose One Pick Up Two

Notre Dame missed out on a commitment from Indiana Linebacker Josh Barajas. Barajas was offered on March 1st during Notre Dame’s Junior Day. He was considered an Irish lean until Barajas visited Penn State on March 22nd. However, Notre Dame picked up two commitments from Texas high school players Prentice McKinney and Jalen Guyton.

Hilliard Names His Top 10

St. Xavier High School and 5-star Linebacker Justin Hilliard announced a list of ten schools that he is currently looking at. His list includes Notre Dame as well as Alabama, Iowa Kentucky, Michigan, Oklahoma, Florida State, Southern California, Ohio State and Florida. 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions have Ohio State, Michigan, Iowa and Notre Dame as the favorites, in that order.

Reid Visits Notre Dame

The Irish are in another battle with Penn State for Philadelphia Cornerback John Reid. Reid is a 4-star recruit, according to 247Sports. The 4-star checks in at 5’10” 180 lbs and runs a 4.48 40-yard dash. He unofficially visited Notre Dame over the weekend. Reid has already visited Penn State twice.
