Notre Dame Football Recruiting
Nicco Fertitta described Notre Dame as his dream school. However, there was some question as to whether or not the Irish coaching staff would accept the commitment of Fertitta because of the recent verbal of Prentice McKinney. But, there is a definite answer to that question now. Over the weekend, Notre Dame landed a commitment from the Las Vegas Bishop Gorman Safety.
The Irish are already familiar with Bishop Gorman. In 2011, Notre Dame landed current Tackle Ronnie Stanley from the high school. Last year, at the coaches clinic, Bishop Gorman Head Coach Tony Sanchez spoke. He brought with him prospects Nathan Starks and Nicco Fertitta. The Irish would likely have landed Starks if he did not have off the field trouble. But, Fertitta did fall Notre Dame’s way.
Fertitta also was offered by Arizona, Boston College, Hawaii, Houston, Indiana, San Diego State, UNLV, Utah and Villanova.
The Bishop Gorman Safety prospect is consistently rated as a 3-star recruit. He is ranked #60, #31 and #33 by 247Sports, Rivals and Scout respectively.
The Irish are hoping that this is not the last prospect that they land from Bishop Gorman this year. Snoop Dogg’s son Cordell Broadus also attends Bishop Gorman. He currently has Notre Dame in his Top 5 schools along with Florida State, Oregon State, UCLA and USC.
For now, the Irish have landed 6 commitments: Blake Barnett, Nicco Fertitta, Jalen Guyton, Tristen Hoge, Prentice McKinney and Jerry Tillery.
