Notre Dame Football
As tradition, “The Shirt”, the official t-shirt for the Notre Dame football season, was unveiled on Friday. This is the 25th year for “The Shirt” at Notre Dame. The big reveal took place outside the Hammes Bookstore. Brian Kelly and the Notre Dame Pom Squad had the honor of being first to don the new shirt.
“The Shirt” (pictured above) features the South End of the Stadium with the tagline, “Then. Now. Forever” on the front. The back features the players running of the tunnel onto the field flanked by the band. “WE ARE” is above the stadium with an ND logo on the field, thus, appearing to read “We are ND.”
The 2014 version of the shirt is solid. The back of the shirt is its best feature. The quote, “Then. Now. Forever” is not as appealing because it does not have any tradition tied to it. This is similar to the 2009 Shirt that said, “Rise and Strike”. What?
The t-shirt is made out of 60/40 cotton-polyester blend this year and cost $18.00.
Here is the story behind the 2014 Shirt as told by the people who helped create it.
