The San Diego Chargers selected former Notre Dame Offensive Guard Chris Watt with 89th overall selection.
Watt started 26 games prior to his Senior season, which was injury plagued. Watt suffered a PCL injury. When he was healthy, Watt and Martin anchored the left side of Notre Dame’s Offensive Line for three years.
In 2011 and 2012, the Irish ran for 161.38 and 189.38 yards respectively. During the same time period, the Irish ranked 24th and 31st in the country in sacks allowed.
Watt is the 4th Notre Dame player that was selected in the 2014 NFL Draft thus far (Martin – 16th, Tuitt – 46th, Nix – 83rd).
