Notre Dame Football: Georgia-Notre Dame Series Almost Set

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that talks between Georgia and Notre Dame have progressed. Notre Dame Athletic Director Jack Swarbrick and Georgia Athletic Director Greg McGarity have not finalized the deal in writing.

McGarity said Tuesday at the SEC spring meetings:

“Hopefully there will be some news, but I don’t want to get people too excited about it…It started when Brian Kelly made a comment several months ago that a game against Georgia would make sense. Once we were aware of that comment, we obviously followed up on it.”

If finalized, the games would take place at Sanford Stadium and Notre Dame Stadium between the 2017-2020 time frame.
