Nearly every April, Notre Dame fans panic about the lack of commitments the Irish have. However, every year, Notre Dame gets a run of commitments in May, June and July.

The Notre Dame Coaching Staff has been on a tear on the recruiting trail in the past two weeks. The Fighting Irish have received commitments from Josh Barajas, Brandon Tiassum, Micah Dew-Treadway, Nick Coleman, Elijah Taylor and, today, Lakewood St. Edwards Cornerback Shaun Crawford.

Crawford checks in at 5-9.5 and 170 lbs. He runs a 4.5 40-yard dash. Additionally, Crawford has a 3.6 GPA. Recruiting experts rank Crawford:

  • 247Sports: 153rd Prospect, 15th CB
  • Rivals: 111th Prospect, 13th CB
  • Scout: 68th Prospect, 9th CB
  • ESPN: 155th Prospect, 10th CB

In 2012, Crawford collected 66 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 2 interceptions, 3 passes broken up, 2 forced fumbles and 1 fumble recovery. In 2013, he tallied 82 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, 2 interceptions, 5 passes broken up, 2 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries.

Crawford holds offers from Arkansas, Cincinnati, Florida State, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Miami, Michigan, Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern, Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

Crawford is a solid 4-star prospect. His size and length are preventing him from being a 5-star prospect, not his talent. This is a great addition for Notre Dame.
