This year, Notre Dame’s Football team will be one of the youngest that Brian Kelly has ever had at Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish are making slight adjustments on Offense and Defense. The Defense will likely operate with three Cornerbacks most of the time. Here are Notre Dame’s players ranked 1-22, continuing with #21:

21. Max Redfield – Sophomore – Safety

This could easily be one of Notre Dame’s best players during the 2014 class. However, Redfield has only started one game for the Fighting Irish, the 2013 Pinstripe Bowl. During that game, Redfield only collected 1 tackles during that game. For the season, he only tallied 11 tackles, 3 solo and 8 assisted.

Will the former 5-star recruit be one of Notre Dame’s best defensive players in 2014? Redfield took a huge step forward in the spring. However, he has not been a consistent force yet.

Redfield should flourish in Brian VanGorder’s scheme. He will be counted on to cover man-to-man as well as cover the deep zone. He can been one of the best but there will be growing pains this season.

Next: #20 Cole Luke – Sophomore – Cornerback

Previous: #22 Mike McGlinchey – Sophomore – Offensive Tackle
