Notre Dame is hopeful that this recruiting week will be one to remember. Quarterback Travis Waller, Linebacker Justin Hilliard, Defensive End Jashon Cornell and Wide Receiver Miles Boykin will be announcing their college intentions this week. Between July 1st and July 3rd, Notre Dame could nearly close out the class of 2015.
However, it does not appear like that will happen for the Fighting Irish.
Hilliard and Cornell have been rumored to be a package deal in this recruiting class. The two players are deciding between nearly the exact same schools. With Cornell moving his announcement to the same time as Hilliard’s, it would appear that the Ohio State Buckeyes are probably in a great position to land both of the big time recruits.
There is no doubt that Hilliard is deciding between the Fighting Irish and Buckeyes. He recently visited both schools during the weekend of June 20th. With the addition of Cornell’s announcement, it seems like that both players will choose the Buckeyes. Cornell has not visited Notre Dame since April 10th.
Hilliard is the 14th best player in the 2015 class. Cornell is the 32 best overall player in the 2015 class.
As for a possible Quarterback to Wide Receiver combination in Waller and Boykin, this seems unlikely as well. Waller has yet to visit Notre Dame and has long favored Oregon. Boykin may be the only commitment that Notre Dame receives in the first week of July.
