Notre Dame Football Recruiting: Ashton White Commits to Notre Dame

Bishop McNamara High School Cornerback Ashton White committed to Notre Dame on Tuesday night via Twitter. White held offers from Boston College, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Ohio State, Temple, Virginia, Virginia Tech and West Virginia. White originally committed to Virginia Tech on December 12, 2013. However, he de-committed on March 8, 2014.

White is rated as a 3-star recruit by several recruiting services including Rivals, ESPN, 247Sports and Scout.

Notre Dame already has commits from Cornerbacks Shaun Crawford and Nick Coleman in the 2015 class. This is probably the last commitment that Notre Dame will receive from a Cornerback in the 2015 class.

The Bishop McNamara High School product represents the 16th commitment overall in 2015 class. The Irish are hoping that this will not be the last commitment this week. Justin Hilliard, Jashon Cornell and Miles Boykin will all make their college decisions known this week.

With the 16th commitment in the 2015 class, Notre Dame only has a few scholarships remaining. The exact number is unknown but Notre Dame is nearly filled for the 2015 football team. If Notre Dame accepts more commitments, the Fighting Irish will likely have to cut the number of 5th year Seniors that they will take. This could mean that players like Matthias Farley and Eliar Hardy be forced to depart to the NFL.

Notre Dame ranks 8th in both the Rivals and 247Sports team rankings for the 2015 class.
