The elite prospects at “The Opening” moved from drills and testing to 7-on-7 on Wednesday. Notre Dame commitments and prospects took to the field in pool play. Here are some observations on the guys who stood out:
- CJ Sanders has really impressed over the first few days of “The Opening”. Despite being slight of size, he has extremely strong strong hands. That was apparent by a catch he made on a slant in 7-on-7 against Alpha Pro. On that same drive, he made two other catches including the touchdown. He definitely can be a go to playmaker in the slot for the Fighting Irish., Shaun Crawford,
- Ray-Ray McCloud is being recruited as a Running Back by Notre Dame but he demonstrated that he has great hands on Wednesday. Additionally, he has tremendous speed. He would be a great change of pace to Josh Adams if Notre Dame could land him.
- Iman Marshall is a big, strong, physical Cornerback. Marshall made an excellent play to break up the ball against Fly Rush Wide Receiver Trent Irwin. He stated that Notre Dame will receive an official visit along with Florida State. Marshall will likely end up at USC but Notre Dame has a shot.
- Arthur McGinnis could not show what he is all about in a 7-on-7 situation. He looked stiff and slow in coverage on Wednesday. Notre Dame is in his top ten schools.
More from the 7-on-7 championships tomorrow.
