Notre Dame Lands Commitment From PF Elijah Burns

Notre Dame received commitment from Blairstown, New Jersey Power Forward Elijah Burns on Saturday. Burns committed despite never visiting campus. Burns was confident of his decision despite never actually seeing the Golden Dome in person. The reputation of Notre Dame Head Coach Mike Brey and the University helped make the decision easy for Burns. Burns told Irish Illustrated:

“I just have a good feeling about Notre Dame already and I’ve done a lot of research. I know people who go there that I trust a lot, I’d trust them with my life. I know they’d never steer me wrong.”

Burns checks in at 6’8″ 215.

Rivals rates Burns as a 3-star recruit. 247Sports also rates Burns as a 3-star prospect. However, they rank him as the 41st Power Forward and 175th prospect nationally.

ESPN ranks Burns higher than Rivals and 247Sports. They rate him as a 4-star prospect. Additionally, they rank him as the 21st Power Forward in the country.

Burns held offers from Albany, Boston College, Boston University, Holy Cross, James Madison, Rhode Island, Seton Hall, Siena and Temple.

This is the second commitment for the Fighting Irish in the 2015 class. The Irish received a commitment from Small Forward Matt Ryan on July 11th.
