Cameron Scarlett narrowed his list of schools down to five on Monday night. These schools included Notre Dame, Stanford, Oregon, UCLA and Washington.
Scarlett is a 6’1″ 210 lbs. Running Back from Portland, Oregon. He plays for Central Catholic High School. During his Junior season, Scarlett tallied 2300 all-purpose yards (1,640 rushing yards and 674 receiving yards) and 33 touchdowns for Central Catholic. Additionally, he made 1st team All-Conference and 2nd team All-State. Scarlett claims a 4.68 40-yard dash.
Despite an extremely solid list of offers, recruiting services do not rank Scarlett highly. 247Sports rates him as a 3-star recruit and the 70th best Athlete in the country. ESPN rates him as a 3-star recruit. They also rank as 51st best Running Back in the nation. Rivals ranks him the highest. They rank him as a 4-star recruit and the 8th best All-Purpose Running Back. They also rank him as the 212th overall player in the country.
Scarlett is clearly the best and most important player on his team. On Offense, he is used as a Running Back, Wide Receiver and Wildcat Quarterback. His best attributes as a player are his vision, versatility and elusiveness.
Notre Dame is probably pursuing Scarlett as a fall back position for higher profile recruits like Soso Jamabo. Stanford is probably the favorite for him at the moment. Frankly, the Cardinal would be an excellent Offensive system for his skills.
