The new turf in Notre Dame Stadium is now complete. Notre Dame’s artificial field turf now features a monogram “ND” with two green shamrocks at the 35-yard line where the kickoff takes place.
The monogram ND is fairly small when it is compared to other schools’ midfield logos. Perhaps, this was a way of comprising the subdued look of the past all grass field with the new look. The field still features the white dashes in the end zone.
Our new field is almost done. Can’t wait to play on it 8/30 before consecutive sellout No. 238! pic.twitter.com/siNL8Be1mS

It took almost the entire summer for the crew to rip up the grass, level the ground and roll out the new turf.
The remarks on Twitter appear to be positive about Notre Dame’s new field turf. As of 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29th, 81% of fans (out of 406 fans) said that they liked Notre Dame’s new field turf in a Slap the Sign poll.
It will undoubtedly help players on both sides play a cleaner game of football. No more slipping. But, gone are the days when Notre Dame can grow foot high grass to slow down an opponent. It will always be somewhat of a fast track now.
How do you feel about the new field turf?
