In 2008, Notre Dame landed TE Kyle Rudolph from Elder High School. The Fighting Irish also inked TE Alex Welch in 2010. The Irish coaching staff is attempting to go back to the well one more time with Elder High School Offensive Tackle Tommy Kraemer.
Kraemer is currently a rising Junior in the Class of 2016. He checks in at 6’5” 305 lbs. 247Sports considers him the 8th best Offensive Tackle in the country. Furthermore, they rank him as the 36th best player overall. He holds 13 Division 1 (FBS) offers.
The Offensive Tackle from Cincinnati, Ohio named his top 5 today. It includes Ohio State, Notre Dame, Northwestern, Boston College and Duke.
Kraemer visited Notre Dame on June 11th.
Notre Dame has been on a tear with Offensive Line recruiting since Harry Hiestand arrived on campus. The Irish landed 4 Offensive Line recruits in last years class including 5-star prospect Quenton Nelson. Steve Elmer was the jewel of the 2013 class.
Beating Ohio State for an in-state prospect is always difficult. But, with how Notre Dame has recruited along the Offensive Line recently, do not be surprised if Notre Dame lands a verbal commitment from Elder High School Offensive Tackle Tommy Kraemer.
The Irish currently have no commitments in the class of 2016.
