Thousand Oaks, California Quarterback Malik Henry announced his top four schools via Twitter yesterday. The 2016 5-star Quarterback named Notre Dame, UCLA, Ohio State and Florida State as his top four schools.
Notre Dame enters the battle for one of nation’s top signal callers in excellent position. Henry visited South Bend for the “Irish Invasion” elite prospect camp. Additionally, he scheduled an unofficial visit for Notre Dame’s matchup with Michigan on September 6th. The Thousand Oaks product also camped at Ohio State and Florida State.
The Irish need an elite prospect at the Quarterback position in the 2016 class. Brian Kelly and his staff missed on many of their targets following the loss of Blake Barnett. Henry definitely fits that bill. 247Sports ranks him as the 4th best prospect in the 2016 class. Additionally, they rank him as the second best Pro-Style Quarterback.
If Notre Dame misses on Henry, several prospects remain on Notre Dame’s recruiting board. The remaining prospects includes Jawon Pass, Dwanye Haskins, Shea Patterson and KJ Costello. All prospects visited Notre Dame over the summer. Pass and Patterson may favor the Fighting Irish at the moment. The 247Sports Crystal Ball experts say there is a 21% chance that Pass, the top Dual-Threat Quarterback, will select Notre Dame. Expects predict a 5% chance for Patterson to pick the Irish.
