We are only seven or eight weeks from the start of Notre Dame’s summer camp. As individual players are getting accustomed to summer classes, let’s look at Notre Dame’s defensive line, especially the two-deep coming out of Spring practice. Since becoming the Fighting Irish’s defensive coordinator, Brian Van Gorder has changed the front seven from a base 3-4 to a 4-3. Also, the Irish hired Keith Gilmore as the new defensive line coach. Gilmore last coached at North Carolina and previously coached six years under Brian Kelly at the University of Cincinnati.
