Two offensive leaders for Notre Dame are giving up a year of eligibility to head to the NFL- what’s next?

The news abut CJ Prosise bypassing his last year at Notre Dame to enter the 2016 NFL Draft came fairly quickly as he announced the day after Notre Dame’s Fiesta Bowl loss.

Irish fans took this as a bit of a blow to some hope that were lingering for the 2016 season, but after a breakout year and suffering a few injuries himself (as well as seeing all the other wounded) it shouldn’t come as a surprise.

Some might say that they were surprised about Will Fuller declaring for the draft after stating that he was coming back for his last year just a few short months ago.

Well… don’t be so shocked. This thing happens all the time, and it happens everywhere. Roster turnover is common in college football and it doesn’t have to mean the death of the new season.

Granted, these two losses account for almost 2300 yards and 25 touchdowns, and… and these two players were the most explosive players for the offense throughout the season which forced defense to play more base against the Irish than we have seen in many many years, but who really knows what is ahead?

Although that tweet from Notre Dame SID, Michael Bertsch is more than true, it doesn’t give the element of “SURPRISE” justice. These kind of parties just don’t happen all the time. What’s next? Well, probably a few more losses along the roster for one thing, and then we can all look forward to spring football with yet another quarterback “competition.”

Hell… maybe Dexter Williams wins the Heisman next year. Point is, is that there is no point, only round edges of a team with a rolling roster.
