Where are some of our favorite Notre Dame players going to end up in the NFL?

It’s that time of year when mock drafts for the upcoming NFL Draft start popping up all over the internet. Basically, anyone with the time and the will puts a mock draft together, although most of them only include the first round and maybe the second round.

NFL.com has a new mock draft up covering the first 4 rounds and even has a few prospects that they didn’t have picked, but they were worthy of being picked before the four rounds were up.

Within this draft they have 6 Notre Dame players going in the first 3 rounds:

Round 1

Oct 17, 2015; South Bend, IN, USA; Notre Dame Fighting Irish wide receiver Will Fuller (7) catches a pass for a 75 yard touchdown against the Southern California Trojans at Notre Dame Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

#03 Ronnie Stanley / Chargers
#14 Jaylon Smith / Raiders

Round 2

#56 Will Fuller / Seahawks

Round 3

#69 KeiVarae Russell / Dolphins
#85 Nick Martin / Texans
#89 Sheldon Day / Steelers

Other Players For 1-4 Consideration

*Elijah Shumate

There are a couple of interesting notes to take a look at here.

Ronnie Stanley could possibly go #1 overall if he impresses Tennessee more than Laremy Tunsil. While this is probably not likely, there is still a long time to go until draft day and Stanley is built to impress.

Jaylon Smith going to the Raiders means that the Chicago Bears took a pass, which might be a bitter pill to swallow for the regional fans.

Pete Carroll must just love these speedy wideouts from Notre Dame if Fuller is to end up in Seattle.

I have a hard time seeing Russell get picked in the first three rounds due to a season that was less than stellar. Still, it is a long way down from where many thought he might go before the 2015 season happened.

Sheldon Day to Pittsburgh would reunite Day with Stephon Tuitt and provide a nice fit for Day on the field.

Overall, I would have to say that if it went down this way with Shumate, Chris Brown, CJ Prosise, and Romeo Okwara all possibly getting drafted in the latter rounds, it would be an incredible validation to the talent Brian Kelly is bringing to Notre Dame and the the talent he is developing there.
