Sophmore, Arike Ogunbowale, has been the Irish’s biggest threat in 2016-2017. Averaging 20.3 points per game, she’s been the go-to scorer for the Irish through three games. Notre Dame may need to begin building more players offensively as the season moves on. Marina Mabrey and Brianna Turner were supposed to be major factors in Notre Dame’s offensive success and will need to contribute more if they want the season to be as successful as they hoped.

For Washington, they’re coming off a big win against Missouri. Guard, Kelsey Plum has been one of the best players in college basketball this season, finishing with 32 points and seven assists in her last game.

This game can give fans one of the biggest scoring matchups of the season. Plum vs Ogunbowale can prove to be a one-on-one matchup for the ages. If this game stills close, it could have a lot to do with these two putting up huge offensive numbers.

Notre Dame’s biggest concern this game will be stopping Chantel Osahor. Against Green Bay, the Irish struggled on the glass, and Osahor can give them even more trouble this game.

Osahor finished with 16 rebounds against Missouri and is one of the top rebounding forwards in the NCAA. If the Irish want to control this game, they’ll need to control the paint.

The Iris could keep their undefeated record intact against Washington. It’s hard to say that this slow start to the season is going to last, in particular against a top 25 team. Look for them to come out and play the uptempo game they’re comfortable with. If they’re able to keep the game at their pace, they should walk away 4-0.
