At 13-2, Notre Dame is looking to turn this strong start into a regular season ACC title. The next step in getting there is by beating Clemson.
The Tigers are coming off of their first ACC loss of the season against North Carolina. After suffering an 89-86 overtime loss, the Tigers proved they could be beaten, but it’s going to take a lot.
Lead by senior forward, Jaron Blossomgame, the Tigers are one of the most underrated teams in the ACC. The 6’7 forward has caused problems for opposing teams all season. Against an undermanned post team in Notre Dame, Blossomgame will be the deciding factor.
Bonzie Colson has dominated the front court all season. It didn’t take long before people began to realize Colson would be able to fill the whole in Notre Dame’s post. But now, it’s just a nationwide understanding that Colson is one of the best forwards in the NCAA.

In the backcourt, Avry Holmes leads the way for Clemson. Averaging 11.4 points per game, Holmes is Clemson’s go-to scoring option at guard.
This game won’t come down to outscoring Holmes, but more slowing him. The Tigers only average 78.3 points a night. Outscoring Clemson won’t be the issue for Notre Dame, all they’ll need to do is slow one of their top point producers.
The Irish should walk away from this game 3-0 in the ACC. If Matt Farrell, Colson, and Steve Vasturia come out hot, they could be able to put this game away early. It isn’t likely that Clemson won’t put up a fight. The Tigers are scrappy, and knowing this is a big game, they’ll be even more determined to bounce back from their loss to North Carolina.
That being said, Notre Dame has to much fire power for Clemson. The Tigers will fight until the final buzzer, but at the end of it, the Irish should stay undefeated in conference play.
