Notre Dame basketball is among seven ACC teams in the latest AP Poll.

After claiming their fifth consecutive win, Notre Dame moved up two spots in the latest rankings jumping from 21 to 19 in this week’s AP Poll. Joining six other ACC teams, the Irish sit ahead of No. 23 Virginia and No. 25 Miami. With two games left in the regular season, Notre Dame is looking to climb up the rankings even more with wins over Boston College and Louisville.

Of the four ACC teams ahead of Notre Dame, North Carolina sits at No. 5, Louisville at No. 8, Florida State at No. 15, and Duke at No, 17. All except North Carolina are battling for the second spot in the conference. This week’s AP Poll shows exactly how close the ACC really is this season.

Up next, Notre Dame takes on Boston College in South Bend before heading to Louisville to close out the regular season. With a closing game against the No. 8 ranked team in the country, Notre Dame has another shot to climb the AP Poll before the ACC Tournament.

With the hopes of moving into a high seed come the NCAA Tournament, sitting at No. 19 is a solid foundation heading into the toughest conference tournament in college basketball. A few good wins and possibly a conference title and the Irish make a case for a top three seed.
