DeShone Kizer will have to wait until Day 2 to hear his name called during the 2017 NFL Draft.

Despite three quarterbacks being taken within the first twelve picks of the NFL Draft, DeShone Kizer slipped out of the opening round. Now, he’ll have to wait until at least Day 2 before he knows his NFL future.

Despite being invited to the draft, being a projected first rounder, and having half the draft to hear his name called, the NFL missed out one the Notre Dame product on Day 1. As he waits to find out where he’ll land tomorrow, we speculate which teams have him on his radar.

While a lot of people believed the Cleveland Browns would take him with at least one of their final two picks in the opening round, they chose to go other routes. Kizer got the short end of the stick and isn’t feeling good about the results of his Day 1 slide.

As the last player in the Green Room, Kizer faced a similar draft as former Notre Dame quarterback, Brady Quinn. Instead of being drafted by the Browns, though, Kizer is still waiting.

Kizer is still keeping his head up, though. He’ll be one of the hottest names in the second round. He likely isn’t going to last long on Day 2 and could go as early as the first pick in the second round. Depending on which teams make moves, Kizer should be the first quarterback off the board Friday, likely heading to a team like Cleveland, San Fransisco 49ers, or Arizona Cardinals.

It’s early. Kizer has a lot of draft left. Just because he’s waiting until Day 2 doesn’t mean his future isn’t bright. Expect the former Notre Dame star to be one of the best players taken out of the opening round in the 2017 NFL Draft.
