Notre Dame track and field will send 18 student-athletes to the 2017 NCAA East Regional.

Notre Dame hopes to earn their 26th consecutive spot in the NCAA Championships by sending 18 athletes to compete in the 2017 NCAA East Regional from May 25-27 in Kentucky.

These event will take place at the University of Kentucky and will feature Notre Dame athletes in 13 different events, 20 Fighting Irish entries overall. As they try to earn their spot at the NCAA Championship, these 18 student-athletes will battle against teams from all over the country.

The Notre Dame women’s team is hoping to earn their 26th consecutive appearance, entering multiple players into competition. At the No. 24 ranked team in the country, these women are considered one of the favorites to earn their spot in the NCAA Championships.

For the men’s team, they hope to earn their way back into the NCAA Championships after missing out for the first time in 22 years in 2016. With the squad they have behind them, and the motivation to silence the doubters after last season, these men should be one of the top teams in the East Regional.
