Tommy Rees is a college student, and like most college students across the country, he drinks alcohol. I know its illegal for his age, but let’s face it, that’s what happens in the college life for most students.

Many people want Rees kicked out of team. After just one mistake, people are furious. Most fans and analysts don’t want him as the starting quarterback. And this was happening well before the arrest. Is this what the people/ critics were looking for? It is the perfect excuse for Brian Kelly to say “He’s clearly not going to be the starter because he is irresponsible.”

But look at it this way, do you remember when Michael Floyd was charged with DUI? I don’t recall people going crazy about kicking him off the team? Just because he was a superstar doesn’t mean he gets special attention. That’s not how Notre Dame works. This school has so much rich history and tradition that people shouldn’t have let one star receiver hurt the image of so many great, hard-working players that came before him. I just don;t understand why people are so critical of Rees when they weren’t of Floyd.
