]]> Minnesota had a great night at the Draft last night. To protect Christian Ponder, their rising quarterback, the Vikings took massive left tackle Matt Kalil from USC as the 4th overall pick to solidify their offensive line.

Later that round, the Vikings traded with Baltimore for another 1st round draft pick. The NFC North team acquired the 29th overall selection and sent their 2nd-round (35th overall) and 4th-round (98th) picks to the Ravens.

With the 29th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings selected Harrison Smith, a former safety from Notre Dame.

The Vikings were in desperate need of a safety, and Smith will be the perfect kid for the job. He is all over the field and always plays with heart. I cannot wait to see him play against the likes of Aaron Rodgers and Matthew Staford on Sundays.
