Notre Dame was outplayed by a very young Rutgers team that showed up to play. The Irish and Scarlet Knights are both 11-8 overall and 3-3 in the Big East.

This game is a tough one to swallow. Notre Dame could have won this game if they made their free throws (5-13 from the line tonight). I’m sure Mike Brey will be making the team practice their free throws after practice this week so this mistake doesn’t happen again.

Another problem that stuck out to me was their offensive play late in the game. It seemed as if no play calls were made during the final 3 or 4 minutes. They were unorganized and couldn’t find an open shot. Frustrating to see it happen, but you have to give credit to Rutgers who came out to play tonight.

Here’s the box score from the game.
