The prosecution of St. Joseph’s County said that they would not oppose a suspended sentence with Brown being placed on probation. Brown’s family contends that he has suffered brain trauma from his years of playing football at the University of Michigan and in the NFL.

In the courtroom Brown testified that he could not remember what kind of medications he was on and he also testified that he had not kept his wife confined in the house, which caused a short halt in the court proceedings. Brown also said that he could not recall everything that happened during the standoff.

Corwin Brown was an assistant coach under Charlie Weis from 2007-2009, including holding the responsibility of defensive coordinator in 2007. He did return to the team after Weis’ 2009 firing.
