Navy (1-2)-The Naval Academy defeated the Virginia Military Academy, 41-3, this past Saturday for their first win of the season. The Midshipmen eclipsed the 400 yard rushing mark for the first time this season. This propelled them to their first win this season. Noah Copeland led the Midshipmen on the ground with 126 yards on 20 carries.

Purdue (2-1)-The Boilermakers did not play last week. They face the Thundering Herd of Marshall this week. Purdue is receiving votes in each poll.

Michigan State (3-1)-Michigan State defeated the Eagles of Eastern Michigan, 23-7. La’Veon Bell carried the Spartans to the victory on Saturday. Bell had 36 carries for 253 yards and 1 touchdown. This is a 7.0 yard average. When Bell is successful, the Spartans win. This was the case on Saturday afternoon.

Miami (3-1)-The Hurricanes beat the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in overtime in their fourth game of the season by a score of 42-36. The Miami Offense amassed over 600 yards of Offense against the Yellow Jackets. Quarterback Stephen Morris completed 31 of 52 passes for 436 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Hurricanes were led on the ground by Mike James who rushed for 89 yards on 15 carries. Miami overcame a 17 point deficit with 10 minutes left in the 3rd Quarter to win in overtime.

Stanford (3-0)-After defeating USC, the Cardinal did not play this past week. They play the Washington Huskies this coming week. The Cardinal are ranked 9th in USA Today Poll.

BYU (2-2)-The Cougars lost a tough battle to the Broncos of Boise State on Thursday night in Boise, Idaho, 7-6. Boise State’s lone score was on an interception return for touchdown. Late in the game, backup Quarterback Taysom Hill led the Cougars down the field for a touchdown. Instead of going for one, Head Coach Bronco Mendenhall gambled and went for the win but the Cougars failed to convert on a 2 point conversion.

Oklahoma (2-1)-The Sooners were upset by the Kansas State Wildcats, 24-19. Oklahoma turned the ball over 3 times during the game. Senior Quarterback Landry Jones was responsible for two of these turnovers.One resulted in a touchdown for the Kansas State Wildcats. Jones finished the game 28 for 43 for 298 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception.

Boston College (1-2)-The Eagles did not have a game this past week. Boston College faces Clemson on September 29th at 3:30 p.m.

Wake Forest (3-1)-The Demon Deacons defeated the Army Black Knights, 49-37. Quarterback Tanner Price went 15 for 24 for 221 yards and 2 touchdowns. Wake Forest added 296 yards on the ground.  The Army Black Knights rushed for 429 yards on the Demon Deacons Defense.

USC (3-1)-The Trojans defeated the Cal Golden Bears, 27-9. Heisman Candidate Matt Barkley went 22 for 34 for 192 yards with 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Penn State transfer Silas Reid has 21 carries for 158 yards and 1 touchdown. Reid led the Trojans rushing performance that totaled 296 yards. The Trojan continue to turn the ball over. They coughed up the ball 3 times on Saturday.
