According to Rivals.com, Notre Dame currently has 21 commitments for the 2013 season. This includes two 5 star players, thirteen 4 star players, and six 3 star players. Currently Notre Dame is ranked 3rd overall in recruiting for 2013. There hasn’t been any new commitments in the past couple weeks and there probably won’t be until the Army All-American game and the Under Amour All-American bowl. The biggest news that anyone has received is Max Redfield is believed to commit to Notre Dame on January 4th during the Under Amour bowl. It isn’t set in stone yet, but all the signs are pointing towards the Irish. There has been some surprising news regarding Tarean Folston and that he is now leaning towards committing to Notre Dame once again. He will also make his decision at the Under Amour All-American Bowl on January 4th. Sebastian Larue is still committed to USC, but he still wants to take a late visit to Notre Dame. The Irish might be able to steal this recruit if there is room.
Max Redfield
After de-committing from USC, Notre Dame has been his number 1 and it looks like he will commit to the Irish on January 4th and would be the highest rated defensive back to ever commit to the Irish since rivals.com was created. Max Redfield could start next season at safety if he lives up to the hype. If Max commits this could be the best recruiting class in the nation.
Tarean Folston
Tony Alford has said that Folston has put Notre Dame as his number one school, but will he commit? The fears I have for him is his playing time, simply because of Greg Bryant and George Atkinson III. If he were to get playing time it would be as a number 2 type of player. I still don’t see him committing to the Irish, but Coach Alford must see something in him.
Sebastian Larue
The 4 star wide receiver is only 5’10’’, but this guy has a lot of talent that could be seen within a couple of years at the college he picks. At his smaller frame he makes up with his technique, ball skills, and can go up and get a ball just like the old Notre Dame receiver Golden Tate.
Eddie Vanderdoes
There are rumors of an official visit to Notre Dame in January, but it is not for sure yet. The Irish coaching staff has been in contact with Vanderdoes a lot lately and it is mainly because now AQ Muhammad is going to be the cat linebacker in Coach Diaco’s defensive scheme. Vanderdoes is very talented and would be a very good pickup, which could get rotation as a sophomore.
A.Q. Muhammad
Still hasn’t visited the Notre Dame campus and this is a worry to the coaches, because they don’t think he would commit without an official visit. Remember about a month ago many people thought he committed to Notre Dame, but AQ said he would decide at the Army All-American Bowl game on January 5th.
