Editors Note: Now and until National Signing Day, Slap the Sign will be producing a daily digest of all the recruiting information that has occurred. With 17 days left until National Signing Day, the activity will be fast and furious. The rumors will be rampant. Most of all the excitement will be high. Slap the Sign is going to try to make sense of it all.

Dontre Wilson

Notre Dame believed that when Chip Kelly left for the Philadelphia Eagles it could land a visit from the 4-star Running Back from DeSoto, Texas. However, that does not appear to be happening for them. Wilson will visit Ohio State on January 25th and then Oklahoma State on February 2nd. The Texas Longhorns will get a visit mid-week from Wilson as well. There appears to be no room for Notre Dame to get a visit from Wilson, who ranks 100th in the Rivals 100.

Tarean Folston

Notre Dame commitment Tarean Folston visited Auburn this weekend. In many reports, he has spoken fondly of the visit and the coaching staff. He remains committed to Notre Dame and will make a decision on National Signing Day. Therefore, it appears that he is not really committed to Notre Dame. If a player has to make a decision between two schools then he is not committed to one school or another. He merely has a leader. In this case, Folston’s leader is Notre Dame. But, based on Folston’s comments, Notre Dame should not feel good about their chances with him. If NSD was today, Folston would probably be an Auburn Tiger.

Eddie Vanderdoes

Let’s begin with the fact that this has not been substantiated by any reputable source. Lane Kiffin and College Recruiting may have found a new low. According to sources, USC has offered Baylee Vanderdoes, a High School Freshman, a scholarship to play women’s basketball. This obviously would be to entice her older brother Eddie Vanderdoes to commit to play football at USC. It is understandable why the Trojans are going all out for Vanderdoes. He just landed his 5th star today in the Rivals rankings. Obviously, teams are not pursuing him harder because he landed another star but it is a good indication of what type of talent he is. Again, this story could be internet rumor. It also could be a Head Coach getting desperate.
