Early this week, Slap the Sign reveal its first Recruiting Board for the 2014 Recruiting Class. With that task complete, we will now predicted who the Irish will land off of that board in our first Mock Class. Obviously, things will change during the march to National Signing Day. More players will probably be added to the board but those names are probably even unknown to Notre Dame at the moment (a Greg Bryant type of situation). As of right now, this Notre Dame Football Recruiting cycle will yield 21 new promising players.

Currently, Brian Kelly and his staff have commitments from 16 prospects: Alex Bars, Grant Blankenship, Jonathan Bonner, Justin Brent, Jimmy Byrne, Matt Dickerson, Jay Hayes, Corey Holmes, DeShone Kizer, Greer Martini, Sam Mustipher, Quenton Nelson, Tyler Newsome, Andrew Trumbetti, Nic Weishar and Richard Yeargin III.

These commitments will be joined by the following:

Tyler Luatua-The main competition for Luatua is Alabama and Ohio State, the two schools who he has visits scheduled to along with Notre Dame. He has a visit scheduled to Ohio State on September 27th and Alabama on November 8th. His official visit to Notre Dame on October 19th will make the difference. Notre Dame is a perfect fit for Luatua’s skills.

Nick Watkins-Notre Dame has been the favorite for a while. It is the only official visit that is currently scheduled for the 4-star Cornerback. Notre Dame will land the Bishop Dunne Catholic product during his visit on October 18th game.

Drue Tranquill-Notre Dame is currently battling Purdue for Drue Tranquill. Tranquill will make his official visit to Notre Dame this weekend for the Michigan State-Notre Dame game. Does Tranquill’s desire to play Safety at the next level outweigh his desire to play on big stage? No, he will select Notre Dame this weekend on his official visit.

Isaiah McKenzie-McKenzie set his announcement date for October 6th. All indications are that he will sign with Notre Dame. Anything other than a commitment from McKenzie would be a surprise.

Payton Hendrix-Hendrix is the teammate of Notre Dame prospect Nick Watkins. The late offer from Notre Dame changed his recruitment. Notre Dame will land the Hendrix as well as Watkins.
