Notre Dame Football Recruiting

National Signing Day is only 10 days away. There is only 1 recruiting weekend left in the 2014 recruiting cycle. Here are some predictions for the remaining targets:

Isaiah McKenzie

Since the Under Armour All-America Game, McKenzie’s recruitment has blown up. He received offers from Florida and Oregon. McKenzie visited Florida and Ole Miss on January 17th and January 24th respectively. McKenzie will visit Notre Dame on January 31st. There have been various reports as to whether or not he has been accepted to Notre Dame. Would Notre Dame allow him to visit if he was not? The Irish have been the favorite for a while. However, McKenzie did not have an in-state offer at that time. Therefore, Florida could be major player here. But, Notre Dame has the final word.

Prediction: Notre Dame

Michiah Quick

The recruitment of Quick is most likely down to Oklahoma and Notre Dame. UCLA may still be in the running. Notre Dame has not had a solid history with prospects from Fresno, California. However, Quick has liked Notre Dame for a long, long time. He will not turn the Irish down and Mike Denbrock.

Prediction: Notre Dame

Daniel Cage

Cage visited Notre Dame midweek. The Irish offered late, which definitely hurts their chances of landing Cage. If they want to land his signature on National Signing Day, the Irish will have to explain why the Irish came so late to the table as well as proving why they are best option for Cage.

Prediction: Michigan State

Terrence Alexander

Alexander’s recruitment has come down to three schools: Ole Miss, Stanford and Notre Dame. Defensive Backs Coach Kerry Cooks and Head Coach Brian Kelly visited Alexander on January 27th. He reported via Twitter that it went well. His recruitment is probably between Notre Dame and Stanford.

Prediction: Notre Dame

JuJu Smith

John “JuJu” Smith has seemed like a heavy USC lean for several months now. The campus is essentially in his backyard. Why has the Long Beach Poly not pulled the trigger yet? His decision is probably not final. The Irish could still pull this one out but it is not the most likely scenario.

Prediction: USC
