Marshall is the top Cornerback in the 2015 class. Not only is he one of the top Cornerback, he is one of the best players in the nation. He moves to top slot in the remaining prospects with interest in Notre Dame.
247Sports considers him the top Cornerback and 6th best player in the country. Rivals also considers him as the top player.
At 6’1″ 195 lbs., he possesses ideal size for a Cornerback. A Cornerback with that size would be extremely valuable in new Notre Dame Defensive Coordinator Brian VanGorder’s scheme. To be more aggressive, Notre Dame will need players like Marshall who can play man-to-man against anyone in the country.
Marshall hails from Long Beach, California. He plays at Poly High School, the same high school of former Notre Dame recruit and current USC Trojan John “JuJu” Smith.
Notre Dame does not have a great history with Long Beach Polytechnic High School. Last year, Notre Dame failed to land Long Beach Poly Safety/Wide Receiver Juju Smith.
Marshall announced that he will officially visit Notre Dame along with LSU, Florida State, Oklahoma and Michigan. He had toyed with the idea of visiting Texas instead of Oklahoma. Despite not receiving an official visit from USC, the Trojans are still favored in this recruitment.
