The Notre Dame Fighting Irish didn’t need a win over the Stanford Cardinal to ‘validate’ their legitimacy as a contender to the media. They needed it to simply remain a contender. And they did just that. With the victory, the Irish moved to No. 6 in the AP poll. Here’s some of the highlights from Brian Kelly’s teleconference.

On the playcalling:

#NotreDame would've punted yesterday if it didn't convert 3rd-and-10 that turned into a 17-yard Corey Robinson reception in final minutes.
