Just like the Irish, Northeastern is a much more efficient team on the offensive side of the ball. For a team looking for an upset, they needed to be matched up with a team that doesn’t shoot it as well as they do. But they are in fact matched up with one that does.

The Huskies average 64 possessions per game, and score 68.6 points per game. They’ve done so by shooting 49 percent from the field, good for ninth in the nation. Solid numbers, until compared to the Irish.

Averaging one more possession at 65, the Irish average 78.98 points per game while shooting 51 percent. On top of that, they don’t turn the ball over–sitting fourth with a 1.61 assist to turnover ration. Northeastern however turns it over, and often. Each starter averages two per game.

Give Notre Dame an inch, they’ll take a mile.
