How many brackets had Kentucky winning it all?

Of course this is David vs. Goliath. Kentucky is undefeated, coming off a game in which they doubled up their Sweet 16 opponent 78-39. While the Irish aren’t a “Cinderella”, this is uncharted territory for Mike Brey. But he’s relied on these seniors to lead, as much as he’s lead himself. On more than one occasion Brey has commented that “they coach themselves”. That’s an attribute to Brey and how he’s coached them thus far.

I’ll admit, I’m a “homer”. I picked the Irish to win it all in the men’s and women’s brackets. Disregard Kentucky here and the Connecticut women. I believe that the time is now. Grant and Connaughton came back for an opportunity like this. Neither returned to “build his draft stock”. Connaughton could be pitching in the Orioles organization right now, and Grant would have been a high draft pick had he chosen to leave.
The two of them wanted to cement a legacy at Notre Dame. This is their chance. And Mike Brey losing his mother Betty, but never wavering in leading this team? There were no “win one for the Gipper” speeches, but don’t think that this team doesn’t want to do all they can for Brey to win this game.
It’s going to take a “perfect” game from the Irish to upend this fantastic team. Do I think they can?
Blazek’s Pick: Notre Dame 87, Kentucky 85
Yes I do. Go Irish!
