Center: Zach Auguste (12.9 PPG, 6.5 RPG, 0.8 APG)
Who was Notre Dame’s second leading scorer behind All-American Jerian Grant? Pat Connaughton? Steve Vasturia? Demetrius Jackson? No, Junior Center Zach Auguste who averaged 12.9 points per game.
Auguste proved that he can play against any player in the world against Kentucky. He took it right to Karl Anthony-Towns to the tune of 20 points.
Foul trouble is one of Auguste’s issues. In 13 of Notre Dame’s 38 games, Auguste had 4 or more fouls. This led to Auguste averaging only 24.4 minutes per game.
In the 2015-2016 season, Auguste must pick up his scoring and minutes. But, most importantly, the Center from Marlborough, Massachusetts needs to improve his defense. Kentucky’s Towns and others had their way with him down low.
