Apr 5, 2015; Tampa, FL, USA; South Carolina Gamecocks center Alaina Coates (41) and Notre Dame Fighting Irish forward Brianna Turner (11) battle for a rebound during a 2015 NCAA Women

Irish MUST be physical on the glass, limit UConn to one-and-done

There’s a good chance that one-and-done could result in points for the Huskies anyhow, but when they don’t, Turner, Taya Reimer and Kathryn Westbeld will have to be strong on the defensive glass. South Carolina had 16 offensive rebounds against the Irish, and that won’t fly against Connecticut.

This is also where Turner will need to play smart like Allen and keep herself on the floor. This is Turner’s first time here. Even with all the accolades, she’s a freshman. She’ll need to play smart and within herself–and cleaning up the boards will be critical.

Notre Dame has to control the glass, as well as get to loose balls. Those will be critical second chances taken away from the Huskies that could give the Irish the opportunities they need for the upset.
