Nose Guard
Jarron Jones (6’5” 315 lbs.) & Jerry Tillery (6’6” 300 lbs.)
Senior Jarron Jones was a red shirt in 2012. In his first full season in 2013, he played in 12 games and collected 20 tackles. Last season was a great one for him. He started 11 games before his season-ending foot injury. He had 40 tackles including seven for losses. In Jones and Day, the Irish have run stoppers that should be even better than they were last season.
Backing up Jones will be the sensation of Spring practice Jerry Tillery. Tillery, a true freshman, was a four-star recruit at offensive tackle. He moved to defensive tackle and looked sensational. He will definitely be part of the two-deep at defensive tackle and he will surprise many.
