Malik Zaire – Jr. – Quarterback – Notre Dame Football

Since Malik Zaire entered the game against USC, his leadership has been evident. While down 35-0 in the 2nd Quarter, Zaire hit Chris Brown on a long pass. He then sprinted down the field to pump up his teammate. He scored a few plays later on an 11-yard touchdown run.

This drive and moment illustrates that type of person and leader Zaire is. Although there was no way the Fighting Irish could win, he attacked the game like the score was within a touchdown late in the 4th Quarter.

Weeks later, Zaire lead the Irish to a win over LSU. If he can inspire the players around him when things look bleak, he can definitely be a captain at Notre Dame.

Aside from his running ability, Zaire has always been noted for his leadership skills. Having a strong leader from the Quarterback position is the single most important ingredient needed in a great Offense.

Although Zaire has only started in one game, he seems like a lock to be a captain in 2015. If he is not, he will undoubtedly be a captain in 2016.
