Melquise Stovall To Visit Notre Dame For The Texas Game
Notre Dame battles USC on a consistent basis for recruits in the Southern California. On the positive side, the Irish Coaching Staff defeated the Trojans Coaching Staff for Safety Max Redfield, Equanimeous St. Brown and C.J. Sanders. However, Notre Dame lost out on players like John “Juju” Smith. The Irish have an opportunity to place another player in the win column.

Melquise Stovall committed to USC on April 17th. He recently de-committed from the Trojans on August 8th. Several schools, including Notre Dame, entered the mix for the 4-star All-Purpose Running Back.
The Sunshine-state standout hails from Lancaster, California and plays for Paraclete High School.
Stovall holds offers from Arizona, Arizona State, California, Colorado, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Oregon State, UCLA, UNLV, USC, Utah, Washington, Washington State, Boise State, Fresno State, Miami (FL), Nevada and San Diego State.
The 247Sports Composite ranks him as the 168th prospect and the 4th All-Purpose Back in the 2016 class.
Last year, Stovall rushed for 1603 yards on 198 attempts (8.09 yard average) with 20 touchdowns. He also caught 415 yards on 21 receptions with 2 touchdowns.
Stovall has confirmed a visit for Notre Dame’s matchup with Texas. The biggest competition for the Irish Coaching Staff is Utah, Washington State, Colorado and Oregon State. Stovall mentioned taking officials visits to all of these schools.
The good news for Notre Dame is that Stovall scheduled his visit to South Bend almost immediately following his de-commitment from USC. He also made the decision to visit the Irish program before any of the other schools. Add these things together and it seems reasonable to believe that Notre Dame may lead for All-Purpose Back.
Stovall would be perfect for Notre Dame’s slot position if he chooses to select the Irish.
