This was one of the biggest Notre Dame football recruiting weekends of the year. The Irish received visits from several top 2016 recruits over the weekend. Official visitors included Offensive Line commitment Parker Boudreaux, Cornerback Eric Cuffee, Defensive Back D.J. Morgan, Athlete Demetris Robertson, Running Back Melquise Stovall, Defensive Back and Oklahoma commit Chanse Sylvie and Defensive Back Donte’ Vaughn.
The Irish also received unofficial visits from Linebacker and USC commit Daelin Hayes and Wide Receiver Donnie Corley.
Demetris Robertson received attention from former Notre Dame Wide Receiver Golden Tate and current Irish Wide Receiver Will Fuller. Robertson took to Twitter with pictures.
The Fighting Irish have a long way to go to land Robertson but they are off to an excellent start with the 5-star Athlete.
Daelin Hayes, another 5-star recruit, unofficially visited the Fighting Irish on Saturday. Like Robertson, Hayes received a lot of love from players and coaches. During the player walk, Brian Kelly and Junior Linebacker Jaylon Smith stopped to talk to Hayes.
Although Hayes is still committed to USC, a commitment to Notre Dame is likely in the future whether it happens now or later this year.
A commitment from D.J. Morgan was expected this weekend. Although it has not happened yet, Morgan will likely end up in South Bend. The 247Sports Crystal Ball currently predicts that he will select the Irish as his college destination.
Notre Dame also leads for Donte Vaughn, a Cornerback from Memphis, Tennessee who visited Notre Dame this weekend. Expert project that Vaughn will select the Irish when he announces his commitment.
2017 prospects, Tyrell Ajian and Cole Kmet, also visited Notre Dame over the weekend.
