Notre Dame is not a championship offense, at least, not yet

Before I jump into evaluating the performance of Notre Dame’s offense, I need to make something clear for Domer fans everywhere. No, we are not going to the College Football Playoffs, and no, we aren’t the best team in the country.

At least not yet.

Last season, we beat up another team from Texas pretty convincingly to start off the season, and it didn’t end well for the Irish in the second half of the year. We all need to come back to Earth and realize there are still 11 games left. Also, stop making the argument for Malik Zaire as a Heisman candidate. He’s a good quarterback, but let’s not pressure the guy with unnecessary distractions. Would you rather see Zaire contend for the Heisman or see Notre Dame in the College Football National Championship game? I hope you all would prefer the latter.

So let’s relax and take this season week-by-week. Finally, it’s time to assess Notre Dame’s performance against the Texas Longhorns.
