17. Bishop Louie, Tulsa WR

Biographical Information: Sophomore wide receiver from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Tallied over 1,000 all-purpose yards and 10 TDs his senior season of high school and was selected as the 4A-3 District Offensive MVP. He was born on September 23, 1995, so a belated happy birthday to him! Parents’ names not listed.

Fun Fact from Official Team Bio: Bishop Louie is all about spouting off fun facts for us to know. His favorite movie is All About the Benjamins, his favorite TV show is Law & Order, his favorite NFL team is the Detroit Lions, and his favorite athlete is Kobe Bryant. The most famous person he’s ever met is Chauncey Billups.

Why I love the name: It’s pretty cool and impressive that someone at his level in the Catholic Church is finding time to pursue an athletic career. Also, what I love most about this leader of the Tulsa Diocese is his relaxed, approachable demeanor. He could have gone by Bishop Louis or even Bishop InsertLastNameHere. Instead, he decided to be relatable and informal, and asks you to just call him Bishop Louie. It makes his parishioners and his teammates feel secure and comfortable, and I respect that. He’s a religious leader I could follow, no doubt.
