5. Wonderful Terry, Western Kentucky DB
Biographical Information: Redshirt senior defensive back from Fort Pierce, Florida. Played at Garden City Community College before coming to Western Kentucky. Was a 3-star recruit. Was named the All-Area Offensive Player of the Year in high school. No parents’ names listed.
Fun Fact from Official Team Bio: Was the first WKU player since consensus All-American Bobby Sippio (ah yes, of course, Bobby Sippio) in 2000 to have three defensive touchdowns in one season (2014)
Why I love the name: What a nice boy! When their baby was born, the Terrys welcomed their beloved infant son into their home but just couldn’t decide on a name. Instead, they called him the various adjectives that they deemed fit to describe him, and a temporary measure eventually turned into a permanent one when they just decided he was too wonderful to give any normal name. Wonderful is now a redshirt senior defensive back with First Team All-Conference USA aspirations. Isn’t that just wonderful?!
He could also earn major bonus points if any stories come out about how he is a terrible teammate or student or friend, as that would contrast well with his name. Alas, I think his name has doomed him to a life of being a good guy and someone who is generally beloved by everyone he knows.
